Poetry Starts: empty, confused

you know I took this pic

empty, confused
lost within a world of thoughts
what is it that I dream
what wants do I have
what is it I need
where is this path of mine leading me
I look at the faces of those around and wonder what of me
Time will reveal all though curiosity rules the world

Roaming Ideas: Where your story starts isn't its finish

my notebook
So, now this is a restart of a restart because technology and me decided to fight and I lost my entire opening.

Yes, I'm a pantser. I fly by the seat of my pants. I go where the words take me without much thought as to what's coming next. Hey, the story is always in the editing process. Hmm, maybe this restart is working out.

Now, this is all well and good, but as you can see if you just go with it like I do, you can end up losing what you've written because you didn't plot/plan/organize it somewhere else and save it before working the final product.

Plus with this method, you're never really sure where it is you're going or what's next. Who did it...no clue, I still don't know what they did.

Now for those who plot and plan. Yeah, I've tried and end up bored in the writing cause I'm searching for the correct phrase and words more than if I just let it run wild. Plus, I feel stuck in a box which isn't true for this method, but it feels that way. However, you're unlikely to lose your work or a specific wording or phrase you feel in love with.

Let's take a look at this via pictures...surprise surprise LOL

This is your full story. Everything is there in detail. It contains every thought, idea, emotion, teeny bit of information that, well, truthfully, only you need to know. But you see the whole picture and it's daunting cause it's HUGE.

Okay, now's the time to zoom into a smaller area of your world. The colours are the same...same people, same environment, same general feel. Or, if like me, you end up going down a side thought and end up somewhere you had no clue about.

So, what happens if you zoom in more? For the pantser, it could be the core idea you've been looking for or for the plotter, the focus in a field of detail.

Really, the whole idea I'm aiming at is a reminder that starting is the goal, the finish will take care of itself as long as you stay open to where your words want to take you.

Roaming Ideas: June Photo Prompt

my notebook

Here's another photo which prompted a few strange ideas for me. I'll admit I did have some moments of over imagination's 'what if...'

Pic was taken out front of my home and is mine :)

What do you see?

Poetry Starts: Play

a book to inspire me

The months in which we play
Are like a passing day
They are filled with love and joy
For every growing boy or girl
Life never seems to end for them
As they gently sing a song
When the day has ended
They are full with sleepiness
But are eager to start the next day
Their mother's tuck them in with love
As fathers watch protectively
With dreams floating in their heads
The month in which we play
Pass once more

Roaming Ideas: Dare to Share

as you know my pic ;)
We writers are a strange breed. We love talking about our stories and books. We work with each other in critique groups and will review works of others...and each other. We're constantly looking at what's happening in our industry.

We're self-marketers. Always on the lookout on how to better present ourselves.

We're loners. We work locked inside our minds with imaginary friends and foes.

We're sensitive and observant. We're opinionated and vocal. You could even say we know a little about everything and yet are masters of nothing.

Don't be scared? Be Scared? If you ever see our Internet searches. Always trend carefully when you see "that" look in our eyes. Or if you see us madly typing or writing notes.

And yet, I know there's many of us who cannot bare to share ideas. What if my idea ends up in someone's story? What if their story becomes the next _____ while mine is never read?

Yes, writers are also insecure. We're forever in a state of waiting for acceptance. And since we're self-workers, there's no escaping.

I started Roaming Ideas to pump the creative well, to keep the mind working on ideas and getting words out, so today I'm sharing the ideas I have folders for...if they prompt you - GREAT! If they get me pumped: YESSSSSS!

Reincarnated vampire
Android for spy industry
crying
father dies before son can come home to kill him
grass people
HIM
I can tell by his eyes that he thinks I...
my ideal heroine and hero

Now...get writing!
